In our previous guide, we warned you about the dangers of fake “Dummy Tickets.” Now, let’s talk about the actual content of your day-by-day plan.
Whether you are navigating the strict rules of the UK Home Office or planning a 3-country Schengen Euro-trip, here is the exact formula we use at Rising Careers to get itineraries approved.
1. The Schengen “Math”: Main Destination vs. First Port
If you are visiting multiple countries in Europe, you cannot just apply to the Embassy that has the earliest appointment slot. You must do the “Schengen Math.”
The Main Destination Rule: You must apply to the country where you will spend the most nights.
Example: 4 nights in France, 3 nights in Switzerland. You MUST apply to France.
The First Port Rule: What if you spend 3 nights in France and 3 nights in Switzerland?
The Fix: You must apply to the country you will physically step foot in first.
The Trap: If your itinerary shows 5 nights in Italy, but you apply through the German Embassy because the queue was shorter, you will be rejected for “Invalid Jurisdiction” (Port Shopping).
2. The 3 Rules of a “Refusal-Proof” Itinerary
When drafting your plan, follow these three psychological rules to build trust with the Visa Officer:
1.The “Anchor” Rule: Limit yourself to 1 or 2 main activities per day. (e.g., “Morning: Louvre Museum. Afternoon: Seine River Cruise”).
2.The “Arrival/Departure” Reality: Day 1 should never include heavy sightseeing. You just flew for 12 hours! Day 1 should simply say: “Arrive at Airport, clear immigration, check into hotel, rest, light neighborhood walk.”
3.The “Transit Block”: Do not magically teleport between cities. If you are going from Paris to Amsterdam, dedicate half a day to it. “Morning: Check out of hotel. Midday: Thalys High-Speed Train to Amsterdam. Afternoon: Check into new hotel.”
I want to do a 4-month English course. Which visa do I need?”
If you look for the “Short-Term Study Visa” for this, you will be wrong. In 2026, if your course is under 6 months, you must apply for a Standard Visitor Visa. The specific “Short-Term Study Visa” is now exclusively for English language courses lasting 6 to 11 months.
3. The 2026 Winning Itinerary Template
Copy and adapt this structure for your own application.
Header Details:
Applicant Name: [As per Passport]

Final Day: Departure

4. The “Expense Summary” (Bonus Trick)
Want to instantly impress the Visa Officer? Add a small “Budget Estimate” at the bottom of your itinerary.
Estimated Flights: €800
Pre-paid Hotels: €600
Daily Spending (€100 x 10 days): €1,000
Total Estimated Cost: €2,400
Funds Available in attached Bank Statement: €4,500 (₹4 Lakhs)
This proves to the officer that you have done the math and your trip makes financial sense.
